  5. It is now 2 o'clock in the morning and version 1 of both FCKECKER and
  6. FLISTER are ready. FCHECKER is OK, but FLISTER could do with a few
  7. improvements. It will do the work anyway.
  8. Fixed a few bugs when I woke up.

  16. It's 10 o'clock in the evening and I can see the sunset from my window.
  17. I'm about to start the last (I hope) long session to complete FLIST2.

  22. I started on these programs a week ago (3/7/1991) and FLIST is already
  23. up to version 2, it was finished 4 o'clock this morning.
  24. If you have seen v.1, this is a big step forward. If you haven't, be happy!
  25. V.1 was of, ahem, "different" quality. Now you have GEM menus, ability to
  26. load from and save to different directorys and delete files from list.
  27. This is a BIG improvement!

  33. Just couldn't keep away, could I. Made some internal changes to FLIST2,
  34. it should speed up saving a bit.
  35. The big change is in FCHECKER. It checks the files so fast (on my HD),
  36. that it is impossible to see which files it's checking. This is fine if 
  37. everything is OK, but if something is wrong with a file, it is impossible
  38. to see which one it is.
  39. The solution is simple: if you press the <p> on the keyboard when it 
  40. starts, the program will make a brief halt before terminating.
  41. Version number on FCHECKER is now 1.1.

  46. This change will only be seen by you who have TOS 1.4 or 1.6: The
  47. fileselectorbox will now have a title that tells you what to do.

  52. Yep, time for another update! Another BIG change this time: CHECKSUMS!
  53. Yes, the program now calculates a checksum on each file and puts it
  54. in the filelist. I changed the Flist program so you can create the new
  55. lists with it AND convert the old ones from v.1 to v.2.
  56. Also updated the Fcheck program so it now handles BOTH the old and
  57. the new filelists.
  58. Flist is now up to version 3 and Fcheck to version 2.

  60. Also fixed a few bugs remaining from Flist2.

  65. I changed the checksum algorithm today. They are now encrypted!
  66. An other change is that the program now searches more of the file.
  67. To check a whole 200K file will take ages, but if you wish me to
  68. change it, let me know.

  73. I speeded up the checksum algorithm. It's faster, but it also means that
  74. lists created with 3.1 will not work. It doesn't matter really, since
  75. 3.1 never was released outside my bedroom. I also 'shadowed out' some menu
  76. items when no list is loaded.

  82. Found a real megabug in the delete-routine. It messed up the filelist when
  83. you deleted files from the list. I don't know how I could have missed it, 
  84. it was so obvious.
  85. Found another bug in the checksum routine. It showed itself if you
  86. deleted files from the list.
  87. Changed the checksum algorithm again, so earlier versions will not work
  88. anymore. Didn't bother to make a converter this time either.
  89. It is now possible to choose if you want to check the whole file or just
  90. part of it. There is a item in the menu 'Extra' called 'Check whole'.
  91. Remember that if you check the whole file, it will take MUCH longer,but
  92. it's much safer.
  93. Changed Fcheck so it won't terminate if it can't locate a file. (Thank's
  94. Steve Delaney for the suggestion)

  100. Added the item 'Delete file' in the File menu. Also renamed 'Delete files'
  101. in the Edit menu to 'Remove files', so it won't be confused with Delete.
  102. Added the item 'Status' in the Extra menu. It will give the status on
  103. some system vectors.
  104. Added keyboard shortcuts to all menu items except About...
  105. Flist is now 3.6.
